Coral Gables Hospital has announced the promotion of Paola Rivas as the new director of Medical Staff Services.
In this role, Rivas will direct all activities of the Medical Staff Office including performance improvement, physician credentialing, peer review and regulatory compliance.
“Paola’s extensive knowledge of the hospital and already established relationships with physicians will prove to be a valuable asset,” said Patrick Downes, hospital CEO. “She has also demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and I have no doubt she will thrive in this new role.”
Prior to her most recent appointment, Rivas served as the marketing manager at Coral Gables Hospital. She was responsible for creating marketing campaigns to promote the hospital’s service lines, as well as coordinating community events, health screenings and physician lectures.
Rivas began working at Coral Gables Hospital in July 2013 as an executive assistant to the administrative team. She also previously worked as an admissions advisor for the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Coral Gables.
Rivas obtained her Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education from Miami Dade College, where she graduated with honors.
