David Treece, Founder of Treece Financial Group, has added his experience as a lifelong LBGTQ advocate to Cetera Financial Group’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Advisory Council.

Treece is one of only 12 financial professionals from the Cetera network on the DEIB Advisory Council, which is co-led by Fanci Worthington, VP Branch Manager at Cetera Investors, and Stephen Oliver, Founder of Manhattan Ridge Advisors. LeAnn Rummel, head of Cetera Investment Services, is the executive sponsor from Cetera. The Council’s launch was featured in Financial Planning magazine, https://www.financial-planning.com/news/cetera-financial-advisors-launch-diversity-and-inclusion-council.

“Joining with Cetera on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Advisory Council is the culmination of many years of speaking out on the need for more inclusion and diversity in the financial services industry,” said David Treece, whose Miami-based firm has been at the forefront of providing financial advice to the LGBTQ community for more than 30 years. “This is the continuation of a long journey so that individuals in the LGBTQ community can feel confident that the work they have put in their entire lives to build their financial lives will be treated with respect, dignity and seriousness.”

The DEIB Advisory Council is devoted to forwarding diversity and inclusion in the field of financial advice, an industry for which equal access and diverse representation is especially needed. The mission of the council is to embrace diversity and strengthen under-represented voices within the financial professional community, Cetera said in a statement.

Other council members include:

  • Majdah alQuhtani, Senior Wealth Management Advisor, Altus Wealth Management
  • Milton Cooley, Financial Advisor, Cetera Financial Specialists
  • Stanford Hirata, Wealth Manager/Founder, Woodcreek Wealth Management
  • Sheila Littleton, Registered Representative, Cetera Financial Specialists
