MG Developer and the Torrealba Family celebrated their $2 million donation to Baptist Health Doctors Hospital during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 26, unveiling the hospital’s Emergency Lobby dedication to the Torrealba Family.
The donation marks a significant milestone in advancing emergency care and patient services in the community and furthers Baptist Health Doctors Hospital as a national leader in high-performing healthcare.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including Baptist Health leadership, donors, and community members. Alex Villoch, CEO of Baptist Health Foundation, and Lourdes Boue, CEO of Baptist Health Doctors Hospital & Baptist Health West Kendall Baptist Hospital, opened the ceremony with remarks on how the donation will support the hospital. Guests then moved to the Emergency Department Lobby, where the unveiling took place, commemorating MG Developer and the Torrealba Family’s dedication.
Diego Torrealba, executive vice president of MG Developer, shared his heartfelt appreciation. “It is an honor for our family and MG Developer to contribute to Baptist Health’s mission of delivering world-class healthcare. We believe in investing in our community, and this donation reflects our commitment to making a meaningful impact,” Diego Torrealba said.
“You are the true heroes, and it is an honor for our family to be part of this place and contribute to the incredible work that you do every day,” added Dorys Martin Torrealba (wife of Alirio Torrealba, CEO and founder of MG Developer).
This investment plays a crucial role in expanding patient access to emergency medical services, enhancing hospital facilities, and supporting state-of-the-art medical technology.
The donation underscores MG Developer’s broader mission of fostering a stronger, healthier community through a meaningful approach in philanthropy that elevates the local standard of living.
“The generosity of MG Developer and the Torrealba Family will leave a lasting legacy in our community. Their contribution allows us to provide even greater care to our patients and their families,” Boue said. “From advanced diagnostic equipment to clinical development opportunities to patient support programs, our donors provide outstanding resources so we can best serve our patients in our community.”
Following the unveiling, guests had the opportunity to tour the newly enhanced facility and learn more about the improvements made possible through this donation. The event concluded with a special photo opportunity to commemorate the momentous occasion.
