The GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club has received a $35,000 grant from the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation for the club’s May Van Sickle Dental Clinic.
As funding is becoming tight for so many non-profits, the ongoing support of the Dr. John T. MacDonald Foundation is very much appreciated.
Over the years, the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation has provided critically needed funds for this clinic that is housed in the historic former Coral Gables Library at 1009 E, Ponce De Leon Blvd. adjacent to the clubhouse.
From May 1, 2013 through Apr. 30, 2014, the clinic provided Miami-Dade County children of the working poor with more than $$216,721 in free dental care during which time they saw 606 patients, including 25 new patients.
For more information on the clinic, now open year round on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, call 305-448-6536.
