Educational Federal Credit Union (EdFed) has launched a new scholarship program for students enrolled in any Adult Education, Technical, and Vocational program within Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). EdFed’s Career in a Year Scholarship was introduced on January 1, 2024, to provide students with an opportunity to be randomly selected for a $2,500 scholarship that will be awarded by the credit union each quarter of this year.

“EdFed is extremely proud to be the official credit union of Miami-Dade County Public Schools,” said EdFed’s President and CEO, Michael DiBenedetto. “This new scholarship program is an investment in the educational and professional future of M-DCPS students, which is at the heart of our mission.”

The Career in a Year Scholarship was designed by EdFed to cover the tuition and incidental expenses required to complete most Adult Education, Technical, and Vocational programs offered by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. To qualify, students must be an EdFed member for at least six months and currently be enrolled in one of the eligible programs. Students can submit scholarship applications on EdFed’s website for a chance to win one of four quarterly $2,500 scholarships to be awarded in 2024.

“We wanted to ensure that this scholarship provided support for students that are enrolled in adult education, technical, and vocational courses that may get overlooked by other college scholarship programs,” said Steve Webb, EdFed’s Vice President of Community Relations. “The Career in a Year Scholarship helps to remove the financial obstacles for adult students pursuing new career paths with M-DCPS.”
