Visitors to a recent Saturday Family Day on Aragon were greeted with a musical treat, courtesy of Orchestra Miami. Sponsored by the Coral Gables Music Club and hosted by Coral Gables Museum, Orchestra Miami presented a fun family concert on the Museum Plaza featuring a performance of Camille Saint-Saëns suite Carnival of the Animals and Respighi’s Baroque inspired The Birds. Maestra Elaine Rinaldi, Orchestra Miami’s artistic director, conducted the performance, and the featured piano soloists in Carnival of the Animals were Elisabeth Thomashoff, originally from Vienna, Austria, and Aneliya Novikova, originally from Voronezh, Russia, both students at the prestigious Lynn Conservatory in Boca Raton.
