At just 11 years old, Georgina Páez Muñoz faced a devastating reality as her lifelong dream of becoming a professional ballerina was shattered by a severe spinal condition. Fast forward to 2025, and you’ll find a young woman who overcame the odds to become a national beauty queen, a model featured on Billboards in New York’s Time Square, and today, you can add author to her impressive resume. Her debut book, From Ballerina to Beauty Queen, is more than a memoir, it’s a testament to perseverance, self-discovery, and the courage to reclaim one’s voice.

From Ballerina to Beauty Queen takes readers through Georgina’s epic transformation, from an ambitious young dancer sidelined by a harrowing back surgery to an unexpected pageant champion, crowned multiple times despite having no prior experience. With raw honesty, she unpacks the triumphs and betrayals that shaped her journey, including the dark side of success, where jealous whispers threatened to overshadow her achievements.
“It was heartbreaking how quickly some people can turn on you when you start winning,” Georgina recalls. “People I had known for years began spreading rumors and downplaying my hard work. It was a tough lesson, but it made me stronger.”
Rather than allowing negativity to define her, Georgina harnessed her pain and used it as fuel. Writing became her therapy, her weapon, and her way to empower others, especially young women navigating their own battles.
“I want young people – especially young girls – to know they never have to ‘shrink’ themselves to make others feel comfortable,” she says. “They can rise above – and shine!”
Bold, fearless, and unapologetically real, From Ballerina to Beauty Queen is more than a story about pageantry, it’s a tale about resilience, conviction, and standing tall in a world that often tries to cut uniquely gifted people down.
Currently a first-year student at the University of Miami, Georgina plans to return to pageantry “when the time is right.” But her focus at present is to inspire others through writing, mentorship, and public speaking. “Pageantry is more than beauty, it’s about discipline, self-confidence, and knowing that you belong,” she explains.
For anyone who has ever felt underestimated or overlooked, From Ballerina to Beauty Queen serves as a powerful reminder: No matter what, you are meant to shine.
