The Biltmore Hotel, a national historic landmark located in the heart of Coral Gables, has been named one of Golf Digest’s best golf resorts in the state of Florida for 2021.
Now in its sixth year, Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards’ mission is to serve its readers and identify “The Best Things in Golf,” with an emphasis on lifestyle properties, products and services.

The golf course, which completed a restoration in December 2018, is one of only nine Donald Ross designed golf courses in the top 100 golf courses in the country. Led by veteran golf course architect Brian Silva, the restoration extended the course to more than 7,100 yards, making it ideal for championship level play. Additionally, players now compete with the original intended “movement” of the Ross design through its 419-Bermuda grass fairways, 84 of the 85 original bunkers, and USGA specified greens that have been re-grassed with Tif-Eagle Bermuda restored to their original dimensions intended back in 1925.
Competition continues to find its way to the Biltmore, in that the resort has hosted the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship since 1964. Past champions kick-started professional careers for Tiger Woods, Camilo Villegas, Michelle McGann, Vicki Goetz, Grace Park, Cristie Kerr, Lexi Thompson, Ricky Fowler and Sergio Garcia.
The Biltmore golf course also is home to the University of Miami’s Women’s Golf Team as well as the Jim McLean Golf School, which has consistently been rated as the #1 Golf School in America since its inception in 1991.
