The honor of becoming the city’s first Coral Gables Certified Green Business goes to toy store I Know Science located on the Shops at Merrick Park.
The new shop offers cool toys and sci-immersion camps for kids who want to grow up to be astronauts, chemists, doctors or engineers. They are also environmentally conscious and a supporter of the city’s efforts for a more resilient and sustainable Coral Gables.
Coral Gables is proud to recognize its first certified Coral Gables Green Business. I Know Science staff focuses on business practices that aim at producing less waste/minimize consumption of single-use products and use more sustainable alternatives for lab materials. They motivate customers to engage in energy and water conservation and reduce the overall carbon footprint.
In addition, they have an eco-innovation curriculum to address current environmental issues.
The Coral Gables Green Business Program was created in collaboration with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and the city’s Sustainability Advisory Board to recognize and reward local businesses for their sustainability efforts and for helping create a more resilient and sustainable Coral Gables for current and future generations.
