Immaculata-La Salle High to Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Athletic Facility

WHAT: Immaculata-La Salle High School (ILS) will celebrate the opening of its new $12M Grosso Parsons Sports Complex with a ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony. After the ceremony,  guests will have the opportunity to take a tour of the facility and enjoy refreshments. The  building is being named for Coach Carmen Grosso and Coach Van Parsons by ILS alumni. Coach  Grosso and Parsons were faculty members at ILS who have made a tremendous impact in the  lives of countless students.  

WHO: Coach Grosso was a former teacher, guidance counselor, coach and athletic director for  the past 30 years. He still works at ILS and serves as the Alumni Relations Liaison for the school’s alumni office. Coach Parsons was a coach in the 1970’s who was instrumental in developing the  school’s athletic programs. Scheduled to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony are Most  Reverend Thomas G. Wenski (Archbishop of Miami), Sister Kim Keraitis, FMA (Principal), Dr. Jim  Rigg (Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Miami), Francis X. Suarez ‘96 (Mayor of  Miami) and Ignacio Halley ‘78 (President of the Board of Directors at ILS). The audience will be  made up of school administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, board members, donors and  friends.  

WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM on the field of the new Grosso Parsons Sports Complex at Immaculata-La Salle High School (ILS) 3601 S. Miami Avenue, Miami,  FL. 33133.  


  • Multi-functional 10,000 square foot building with state-of-the-art technology Houses an Athletic Training Facility, Locker Rooms and Weight Training Facility Will have an Athletic Field & Sports Complex that houses classrooms & offices 
  • Features a press box that will serve as a hub for announcers and press as well as  students from our broadcasting program 
  • Designer/Builder: Trelles Cabarrocas Architects (Designers)/ Florida Lemark Corporation (Construction Company)
