Gallardo & Lamas Periodontics and Implant Dentistry to host breakfast study club for dental professionals at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. John Paul Gallardo, D.D.S., P.A. and William P. Lamas, D.M.D., M.S. are excited to reveal their upcoming Miami Study Club will be held on November 4th at Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables. These quarterly events, hosted by Gallardo & Lamas Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, bring together dental professionals from across the nation for continuing education credits and peer-to- peer networking. November’s Study Club will feature information on the use of CAD/CAM technology, and will include guest speaker, trusted periodontist, Farhad E. Boltchi, D.M.D., M.S.
Four times a year, Dr. Gallardo and Dr. Lamas host the study club in Miami. The purpose of this meeting is to bring together dentists and dental hygienists for an informative session on current topics. Led by some of the world’s most respected educators, researchers and practitioners, the Miami Study Club provides professionals an opportunity to gather in a casual, informative environment.
“As dental specialists, we feel an obligation to provide continuing education to general dentists and specialists alike,” said Dr. Gallardo. “The pace at which technology in healthcare is moving makes it mandatory for us to continue staying ahead of the curve.”
This November, the Miami Study Club will focus on the use of CAD/CAM scanners in restoration dentistry. From single-tooth to full-mouth rehabilitations, the process of creating provisional and final CAD/CAM restorations will be reviewed, geared toward assisting attendees improve efficiency and overall patient outcomes. The study club will highlight the process of digital impressions, material selection, digital model fabrication, and laboratory design for exceptional aesthetic results.
The breakfast meeting will be presented on a straight forward to advanced level. The learning objectives include how to incorporate cutting-edge advances in CAD/CAM technology, as well as the differences between the most common materials utilized for copings, framework designs and implant fabrications. Dr. Boltchi will explain how digital technology can improve treatment planning and maximize work flow.
Dr. Boltchi is an experienced periodontist. Growing up in Germany, Dr. Boltchi attended the Medical University of Hannover. He completed his post graduate training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where Dr. Boltchi currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Graduate Periodontics Program. Since 2002, Dr. Boltchi has worked in private practice in Arlington, Texas.
The Miami Study Club is complimentary, as part of Struamann Continuing Education, providing continuing education hours for those in general dentistry, prosthetics, restorative dentistry, as well as dental lab staff and administration. Drs. Gallardo and Lamas are esteemed in their field of restorative dentistry. Dr. Gallardo attended the University of Miami, New York University, and Boston University. He began his periodontal and dental implant career in 1994 Dr. Lamas is an alumnus of Barry University, the Florida College of Dentistry, and Baylor College of Dentistry-TAMUS.
