Juan Fernandez-Barquin

I am proud to announce that Operation Green Light (OGL) will begin on Monday,  April 21, 2025, and run through Sunday, May 4, 2025. OGL is a driver’s license  reinstatement initiative designed to help reduce the number of suspended licenses  in our community while offering significant savings on collection fees. During this  event, all collection fees will be waived, allowing residents to redirect those funds  toward everyday essentials.

This marks the fourth time I’ve had the privilege of offering this large-scale event  to the residents of Miami-Dade County, and the previous results have been  outstanding. To date, OGL has helped customers resolve over 17,000 cases, with a  total savings of more than $1,053,548 in collection fees.

Driver’s license suspensions typically occur due to outstanding traffic citations or  unresolved criminal court costs. OGL offers a unique opportunity to resolve these  issues and avoid the financial burden of prolonged suspensions. Customers will  also have the option to establish recurring monthly payment plans, providing  flexibility to stay on track while resolving their court obligations.

Currently there are over 1.2 million cases in collections and over 124,000  suspended licenses in our community. Operation Green Light is not only about  getting customers back on the road, but also about easing the financial burden  many of them face, empowering them to focus on their families, jobs, and daily  lives. I encourage everyone who may be affected to take full advantage of this  incredible opportunity.

Operation Green Light will be available at our branch locations (Coral Gables  District Court, Hialeah District Court, ***Joseph Caleb Center Court, Lawson E.  Thomas Courthouse Center, ***North Dade Justice Center, Richard E. Gerstein  Justice Building, and ***South Dade Government Center) Monday through  Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Locations marked with (***) will offer extended  hours on Thursdays (9 AM to 8 PM) and Saturdays (9 AM to 1 PM).
