Every holiday season for 68 years the Junior Orange Bowl Parade has celebrated youth, community, and culture with floats, marching bands, equestrian groups, vintage cars, and much more.
The Junior Orange Bowl has announced the Orange Bowl Committee as the presenting sponsor of the 68th parade, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 27, 4 p.m., in downtown Coral Gables. The “Holiday on the Mile” parade is the perfect way to end the Thanksgiving weekend and begin the holiday season with loved ones.
The parade route will begin on Alhambra Circle and Ponce de Leon, head south to Miracle Mile, and finish at the grandstands in front of City Hall on Biltmore Way. Grandstand ticket holders also will enjoy the pre-parade show presented by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and featuring The Actors’ Playhouse performing hits from Million Dollar Quartet.
Million Dollar Quartet is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical inspired by the famous photo and phenomenal true story of the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for the first and only time in their careers.
The parade is free to attend and open to the public. Grandstand tickets are on sale for $10, or $30 with access to the Hospitality Suite.
The Junior Orange Bowl is accepting applications to participate in the parade. The parade is open to any school, community, corporate, or youth organization that wishes to showcase its cultural talents and promote its mission. Visit www.jrorangebowl.org/parade for ticket and participation information.
The annual parade is the flagship event of the Junior Orange Bowl Festival Season, which consists of 15 athletic, academic, and cultural youth events that are all held in South Florida.
