The Junior Orange Bowl recently celebrated the unveiling of the organization’s 69th annual parade theme at the Pullman Miami Airport Hotel with members, friends, and guests.
Junior Orange Bowl Parade chair Travis Stokes, vice chair Kathleen Slesnick Kauffman, and the Junior Orange Bowl Royal Court revealed the theme for the annual community parade, “A Groovy Gables Holiday.” The theme will honor the parade’s 69-year history by paying homage to the 1960s.
“The Junior Orange Bowl Parade is celebrating its 69th year, we thought it would be fun to incorporate a theme that is reminiscent of the 1960s,” Stokes said. “We hope that everyone involved in the parade will embrace the theme wholeheartedly and use it as inspiration for their costumes, décor, and musical selections; we truly want to be able to give spectators a Groovy Gables Holiday.”
The parade will take place on Nov. 26, the first Sunday after Thanksgiving, in downtown Coral Gables along Miracle Mile. The parade is free to attend and open to the public.
The Junior Orange Bowl currently is accepting applications to participate in the parade, which is open to any school, community, corporate, or youth organization that wishes to showcase its cultural talents and promote its mission.
