The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship has announced that Karolina Pliskova is this year’s honorary chair.

The Czech Republic tennis starcurrently is ranked No. 4 on the WTA Tour. Pliskova’s stellar 2017 season included three WTA singles titles. She also reached a career-high ranking of No.1 on the WTA Tour.

When asked about her time competing in the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship and being named Honorary Chair, Pliskova said, “As I reflect on this year, the most memorable and successful time in my professional tennis career, I am grateful for the early experiences that helped to shape my game. I had the privilege of playing in the Junior Orange Bowl in 2004. I remember my time here fondly and I am proud to have been chosen as the tournament’s honorary chair.”

Pliskova is among the elite tennis athletes sponsored by FILA. The company also serves as the Official Apparel and Footwear Provider of the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships, continuing its commitment to supporting the next generation of players.

The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship is the world’s premier tournament for junior players, and has consistently attracted the top junior tennis talent from around the world. The 56th annual tournament takes place Dec. 10-19, at the Biltmore Hotel, Crandon Park, Salvadore Park, and University of Miami.
