Liberty Caffé at the Coral Gables Country Club, 997 N. Greenway Dr., is open for business. A ribbon cutting ceremony on May 15 with friends and neighbors officially inaugurated the new venue in the historic building.
On opening day, a steady stream of visitors came to taste the free authentic gelato made fresh inhouse at the country club with machines imported from Italy. Liberty Caffé will be open to the public seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The operator of the club, Coral Grand LLC, which has made a substantial investment in the renovation and commercial success of this historic facility, plans to open a restaurant late this year and banquet facilities next year. A fitness center with pool and tennis courts also is slated to reopen this summer.
