Marquis Bank’s begins drive for back-to-school supplies

Through Aug. 18, Marquis Bank is collecting back-to-school supplies essential for low-income children to be ready for their first day in the classroom.

“In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, we are accepting donations of school supplies that will be given to children whose living situations make it impossible for them to have everything they need to start the school year,” said Ronnie Moro, vice president and director of marketing at Marquis Bank.

“We’re also making it fun for our employees by challenging them to bring in donations on Fridays in return for the opportunity to step outside the bank box and wear jeans to work,” Moro said.

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools supply lists can be found at:
www.school-supply-list.com/schools/dade-county-superintendents-office-miami-fl-school-supplies-list-26185.

Accepted donations include: No. 2 pencils, crayons, glue sticks, white glue, boxes of tissues, pink and white erasers, broad tip markers, blunt tip scissors, pencil case, spiral bound notebooks, pocket folders, pencil crayons, lined notebook paper, plain copy paper, blue pens, red pens, ruler, one-inch binders, subject dividers, scientific calculator, pocket dictionary, pencil sharpener, and highlighters.

You can take your donations to Marquis Bank’s Coral Gables office at 355 Alhambra Circle, Suite 125, or to the Aventura office at 19058 NE 29 Ave.
