Participating Florida and Georgia McDonald’s®restaurants have collectively raised over $1.4 million for the benefit of nine local RMHC chapters, supporting families in need through their special Chicken McNuggets® and fries family meal.
The cornerstone program of RMHC is the Ronald McDonald House®, which is a home away from home for parents and caregivers to stay near the hospital while their child is receiving medical treatment. Each House program provides a sanctuary for these families, including
lodging, meals, and other support services. RMHC supports the well-being of the entire family allowing them to focus on their child’s health and treatment.
Local McDonald’s restaurants “Families Helping Families” promotion, featuring the 40-piece Chicken McNuggets and two large fries bundle, was created to benefit RMHC Chapters in participating areas Through sales of the bundle at participating McDonald’s restaurants, $1,429,374 was donated to nine local RMHCs in 2023. This equates to over fourteen thousand room nights at a Ronald McDonald House for a family experiencing a health crisis.
The South Florida McDonald’s Operators Association supports two RMHC Chapters and has donated over $446,922 through the 2023 bundles program.
“As a McDonald’s Owner/Operator and President of the RMHC South Florida, I am proud to see this program from a unique vantage point. On the restaurant side, we engage our restaurant crew in philanthropic efforts for RMHC. As an Executive Committee member, I see how these donations impact the families RMHC serves,” said Alex Rodriguez. “This is a “families helping families” engagement with the community to help our friends and neighbors in need.”
Funds will assist the local RMHC Chapters throughout the state to continue to serve families of children receiving lifesaving and life-changing treatments in regional hospitals and medical facilities. In the inaugural year of this bundle, 2022, $1,221,718 was raised across the participating areas. Over the past two years, this program has generated $2,651,092.

- North Central Florida, Gainesville, Fla.
- Central Florida, Orlando, Fla.

- Southwest Florida, Fort Myers, Fla.
- South Florida, Miami, Fla.
McDonald’s customers can help RMHC in various ways such as the Round Up program by choosing to round-up their purchase at McDonald’s to the nearest whole dollar, and by donating spare change at the front counter or drive-thru donation boxes.
The Chicken McNuggets Bundle program is available year-round and can be purchased at a McDonald’s restaurant, through the App, and even brought right to the customers via McDelivery.
