Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, Dariel Fernandez, appeared before the City of Coral Gables Commission during its regular meeting for the second reading and final approval of an ordinance that enables the opening of a new Tax Collector office in the heart of Coral Gables.
Achieving this milestone represents a major advancement in Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez’s broader mission to bring services closer to all Miami-Dade County residents. “This collaboration is a great example of how we can bring government services closer to the people,” said Dariel Fernandez. “We’re committed to making it easier and more convenient for Coral Gables residents and its neighbors to access the services they rely on.”
The ordinance, sponsored by Mayor Vince Lago, authorizes the City to enter into a lease agreement with the Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector for the City-owned property located at 224 Minorca Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
The new office will provide a local, convenient location for residents and businesses to access essential tax collector’s services, including driver license and identification card transactions, as well as property and business tax payments, among many others.
The Coral Gables City Commission voted in favor of the ordinance, marking a major step toward enhancing local government accessibility. Lease finalization and office preparations are expected to begin shortly.
