Honorable Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, participated in the Florida Tax Collectors Association’s Annual Legislative Day in Tallahassee, where tax collectors from across the state convened to meet with state lawmakers. The event provided a platform for tax collectors and their leadership staff to advocate for policies that prioritize citizen convenience, safety, and access to state services.
“As we prepare for the 2025 Legislative Session in March, it’s crucial that we continue to collaborate with Florida’s legislators and partners to implement solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of our communities,” said Fernandez. “I’m grateful to the Florida Tax Collectors Association for organizing this important event, which allowed us to connect directly with our elected representatives and senators to advance policies that will benefit Floridians.”
The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office has remained dedicated to improving services for residents, and this year’s Legislative Day focused on advocating for enhanced efficiency and services across Florida’s tax collection system. Fernandez expressed his commitment to working closely with state lawmakers to ensure Miami-Dade residents’ needs are heard at the state level.
“We were honored to receive a warm welcome and strong support from Representatives Thomas Patterson Maney, Philip Wayne ‘Griff’ Griffitts Jr., Dana Trabulsy, and Senator Martin during our time in Tallahassee,” Fernandez continued. “Their commitment to our shared mission is deeply appreciated, and we look forward to working with them to continue improving state services.”
The second day of the event also highlighted Miami-Dade’s legislative priorities, with a focus on advocating for effective solutions and seamless service delivery for residents. Fernandez expressed gratitude to Senators Joe Gruters, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Bryan Avila, and State Representative Omar Blanco for their ongoing support and dedication to these efforts.
“Working together with state leaders is essential for creating positive, lasting changes that will benefit the entire state, and I’m confident that through these partnerships, we can continue to make a meaningful difference for all Floridians,” Fernandez concluded.
The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office is committed to enhancing services and ensuring that every resident has access to the resources they need.
