After a 27-year career as a sworn officer with the Miami-Dade Police
Department, culminating with overseeing public information and education
as Chief of Communications, Hector Llevat has called it a day.
Don’t expect to find him on the golf course enjoying his retirement,
however. After a career spent protecting the citizens of Miami-Dade
County, Llevat immediately transitioned to a new career as a realtor with
Miami-based Real Estate Sales Force (RESF).
“I’ve been a licensed realtor for more than twenty years and have always
had an entrepreneurial spirit, which I inherited from my dad,” says Llevat.
“The skills I developed during my police career – attention to detail,
communication, knowledge of the law – are the same ones necessary to be
a professional realtor. I want to continue serving the community, this time
by guiding people through the important decision to buy or sell a home.”
“Hector was professional, reliable and friendly, always knowledgeable and
informative along every step of the process,” says Ingrid Castelblanco,
whom Llevat guided through the process of buying a new home.
Llevat was responsible for launching the Miami-Dade Police Department’s
first ever Social Media Team, tasked with disseminating information to the
community through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and
Nextdoor. Today, he uses those communication tactics to share information
with clients and prospects.
“Social media is the best way to connect with people throughout the
country and around the world. Miami is an international city so a realtor
needs to be able to communicate globally,” he says.
From the Kendall office of RESF, Llevat specializes in residential sales,
particularly in Central and South Miami-Dade County municipalities like
Pinecrest, Doral, Coral Gables and Kendall.

“Jorge Guerra, the President of RESF, has put a lot emphasis on
technological support for agents, with heavy social media, video
walkthroughs and conferencing, and high-definition videos,” says Llevat.
“By being technologically agile, it gives agents a huge advantage and
enables us to stay at the top of our game.”

Hector Llevat holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from
Florida International University and is a member of the National Association
of Realtors® and the Miami Association of Realtors. He can be reached at
