With summer vacation just months away, parents are looking for exciting and innovative ways to keep their children engaged in education outside the classroom.
Summer Camp 2017 at Miami Seaquarium offers students from kindergarten to high school the opportunity to learn about animal senses and behavior, environmental issues, and the relationship between humans and marine animals. This year’s camp will run from June 12 to Aug. 19 for campers’ ages 5 to 18.
Summer activities for kids will focus on educational topics according to their grade level. Camp themes are “Conservation Motivation,” “Scales & Tales,” “A Diver’s Discovery,” “Wild Wave Riders” and “Ocean Safari.” This year’s Summer Camp is full of new games, activities, and learning experiences.
Also new this year, is the Councilor in Training program (CIT). The CIT program is designed for campers 14 and older and provides leadership opportunities that prepare campers to become future staff members, as well as research effective marine science educational tools.
