M-DSPD officers pledge to serve and protect students, employees, schools, and community during a swearing-in ceremony.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho was joined by school board members, Miami-Dade Schools Police Department (M-DSPD) Chief Edwin Lopez, School Police officers and their families and friends for a recent swearing-in ceremony at Miami Senior High School.

In addition to 45 new M-DSPD officers who were sworn in, 23 others were promoted for their commitment to protecting schools and students. The hiring of these additional officers will allow M-DSPD to continue increasing its presence in schools.
