Paul Lowenthal has a long history of community involvement as an individual as well as in his role as CEO and owner of Southern Audio Visual.
If you have been to a conference or other large event, you have no doubt found South Audio Visual there as an outsourced provider of audio-visual equipment and comprehensive support services and technicians, focused primarily within the hospitality industry and, oftentimes donating services to local charities.
A native of South Florida and a Coral Gables resident, Paul earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and political science from Florida State University after which he took additional graduate course work at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida.
Lowenthal first was exposed to volunteerism as a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity during his years at FSU where volunteer work was part of the fraternal culture. It was there he learned the value and importance of giving your time and knowledge to those with greater needs, which, he explains, may come in many forms — educational, mentoring, emo-tional support, as well as financial.
It seems his appreciation for volunteerism was further enhanced while working for Price Waterhouse, a firm that encourages its professionals to be engaged and involved in charitable pursuit often loaning professionals for short-term volunteer work.
Paul’s history of philanthropic activity includes being an active member of the Florida State University Platinum Chiefs. He serves on the board of directors for the Seminole Boosters Inc., the national fundraising arm of Florida State University.
In addition, Lowenthal is involved as a contributor and supporter of organizations such as Camillus House, Sunil’s Home Orphanage in India, Archdiocese of Miami, Children’s Bereavement Center, as well as the Institute of American Polish Culture. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
When this busy man is not volunteering his energy and talent, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their three children boating, golfing and fly fishing.
