Pianist Lindsay Garritson to perform  in a Piano Lovers concert on Aug. 27

Pianist Lindsay Garritson will perform in a Piano Lovers concert on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 7:30 p.m., at the Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, 3010 De Soto Blvd. in Coral Gables.

The program includes the following selections:
Schubert — Piano Sonata in A, D. 664
Liszt — Rhapsodie Espagnole
Ravel — Valse Nobles et Sentimentales
Prokofiev — Piano Sonata No. 7

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the concert.

Dr. Lindsay Garritson has performed throughout the United States and abroad since age 4.

She has appeared on stages such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Place des Arts (Montreal), and has been featured as soloist with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Keweenaw Symphony (Michigan), Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra (Texas), Orchestre Métropolitain (Montreal), Atlantic Classical Orchestra (Florida), Orquestra Sinfônica Barra Mansa (Brazil), Yale Philharmonic Orchestra, and European Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

An award-winning performer, Garritson has received top prizes at the Montreal International Piano Competition, USASU Bösendorfer International Piano Competition, and the Mozarteum International Chopin Competition (Salzburg). She was selected as a participant in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition as well as a finalist for the German Piano Award in Frankfurt, Germany.

Garritson holds degrees from Principia College (BA in Music), Yale School of Music (MM and Artist Diploma), and the University of Miami (DMA). Her piano teachers include Santiago Rodriguez, Boris Berman, Luiz de Moura Castro, Choong-Mo Kang, Zena Ilyashov, Emilio Del Rosario, the late Jane Allen, and Jennifer Lim Judd.

Garritson currently resides in Jensen Beach.
