Ransom Everglades student Patrick Keedy Brown, a 2019 graduate of Pinecrest Elementary School and who won the Miami-Dade History Team Competition, has now won the 8th Grade Regional Qualifier of the 2022 National History Bee. Keedy Brown will now travel to Orlando to compete in the National Championship from June 16-20. In addition, he placed 2nd in the Regional Qualifer for the National Geography Bee, which also qualified him to compete in that national championship, also to be held in Orlando. The history and geography teams at Ransom Everglades School are coached by Joe Mauro, who has taught history courses at the school for 35 years. In 2019, a Ransom Everglades 7th grader won the national championship.
