Recycling in Coral Gables

The City of Coral Gables is implementing changes to its residential recycling. Beginning on June 14, Coral Gables will be transitioning to more efficient pickup routes as well as moving from a five-day operation to a four-day operation.

The new routes will minimize time spent driving between pickups and will conveniently allow a resident’s recycling pickup day to fall on one of their household garbage pickup days. Also, not only will moving to a four-day operation create an ‘off-day’ that will allow for vehicle maintenance without delaying service, but it will also provide time to recover due to unforeseen disruptions such as storms and vehicle breakdowns.

Although the updated routes may change the day recycling is collected, residents can conveniently look up their address and learn their new pickup day on the City’s website (www.CoralGables.com/Recycling) on June 14 once new routes are in place.

“We are striving to improve our service delivery and efficiencies and look forward to the positive effects these changes will have on our recycling services,” said Al Zamora, Assistant Director of Public Works – Solid Waste.
