SFYS to present unique ‘Inside/ Outside’ Concert on Feb. 26
The South Florida Youth Symphony will perform a unique ‘Inside/Outside’ Concert on Feb. 26 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The performance, in the Garden House, affords concertgoers the opportunity to sit inside or outside to listen as the SFYS performs music from their upcoming Grand Performance Tour of Italy.

The Emmy and Gold Medal-winning South Florida Youth Symphony (SFYSmusic.org) will present a unique “Inside/Outside” Concert at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Rd., on Feb. 26.

The performance, sponsored by Fairchild and the Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade, begins at 2 p.m.

Concertgoers can enjoy the performance either indoors in Fairchild’s Garden House or outdoors in the surrounding lush gardens nearby. Masks are optional for the indoor seating.

One of the country’s leading youth music organizations, the SFYS will be performing their “Italy Tour Preview” program at the Fairchild concert. More than 80 musicians, instructors and chaperones will represent South Florida in a Grand Performance Tour of Italy, Mar. 17-23, performing in Florence, Lucca and Rome. The last time the SFYS performed internationally (2019) they took home the Gold Medal at the prestigious International Youth Bohemia music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic.

“We’ll be featuring a diverse All-American program that will satisfy everyone’s palate,” said Marjorie Hahn, SFYS executive and music director. “The concert will give South Florida a preview of our Grand Performance Tour.”

In addition to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and the Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade, the SFYS program is sponsored with the support by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, Miami-Dade County Mayor and County Commissioners, The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County Office of Management and Budget, State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, The Kirk Foundation, Publix Charities, and Nancy Friday Foundation.

The concert is free with a paid admission to Fairchild. Adult admission is $24.95 and senior admission is $17.95. Students (with ID) are $15.95 and children (6-17) are $11.95. Admission for children under 6, Fairchild members and active military and veterans is free.
