The artwork of French-American artist Duaív, who maintains his studio in Fort Lauderdale, captured the attention of art aficionados at a private event hosted by Park West Gallery earlier this month at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Denver, CO.
Among the event highlights was the sale of Duaiv’s painting titled, Tribute to Picasso, which had previously been displayed in September, along with his vibrantly painted Corvette Z06 C7R Special Edition, at the Cars Meet Art exhibition of the 46th annual Miami International Auto Show.
“It was especially gratifying to see the wonderful response my painting elicited from the hundreds of people who attended this event,” Duaív said. “My inspiration for the painting was to pay homage to Picasso who I believe to be the most important artist of the 21st Century.”
An internationally recognized artist, Duaív has spent his lifetime nurturing, fostering and sharing the arts with the world. He picked up his first paintbrush by age 3 and completed his first oil painting by age 9. Duaív also is considered a world-class cellist.
His passion for both music and art has provided him with incredible opportunities. When he was 25, he met artist Salvador Dalí who inspired him to become a professional artist.
In 2011, he became an American citizen and his encounter with Dalí and others have inspired Duaív throughout his career, constantly reminding him to blend his passion for the arts by weaving his music into his painting and throughout his daily life.
In 1998, he has been awarded the prestigious Commander of the Order of the Star of Europe for his contribution to contemporary art.
Duaív is a colorful man with hair that matches the full spectrum of art that he creates using cans of paint rather than tubes. In 2015, he joined the prestigious Coconut Grove Arts Festival’s selective group of official poster artists. His artistic designs also have been seen at such other events as the Miami International Auto Show, International Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and Art Basel.
He continues to exhibit all over the world in favorite locations such as France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, South America, Canada, Tunisia, Australia and across the United States.
