South Florida PBS Excited to Announce New Series KidVision Feelings

South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, & Health Channel) is thrilled to announce the premiere of the children’s educational interstitial series KidVision Feelings on WPBT, WXEL, South Florida PBS Kids, and YouTube. Join acclaimed KidVision host and Education Director, Miss Penny as she guides the KidVision kids through different emotions and healthy coping strategies to deal with feelings.

KidVision Feelings will teach children how to identify and cope with big emotions through 12 captivating episodes, each focusing on a distinct feeling. Just like a superpower, understanding our feelings opens a world of self-discovery, allowing us to navigate our emotions with confidence.

Episode descriptions are as follows:

  • January 1, 2024 – Angry 
    • When things don’t go your way, you may want to stop your feet or yell. But taking deep breaths to calm down and using words can help!
  • January 15, 2024- Happy 
    • Miss Penny teaches KidVision kids that when good things happen, you might feel super happy! Big smiles, lots of laughter, and dancing around with energy – those are the signs of happiness.
  • February 1, 2024 – Proud 
    • Miss Penny talks about how feeling proud makes us smile, stand tall, and want to share good news. You might even want to give yourself a pat on the back!
  • February 15, 2024 – Calm 
    • Take a big breath and relax – let’s feel calm together! Miss Penny shows KidVision Kids how to recognize and welcome peaceful feelings.
  • March 1, 2024 – Sad 
    • Sadness makes us want to frown, be alone, cry, or hug something tight. Miss Penny discusses healthy coping strategies to feel a little better when sadness hits, such as snuggling with a soft blanket while feeling this way.
  • March 15, 2024 – Embarrassed
    • Miss Penny helps KidVision kids handle embarrassment by finding humor and looking at things differently. We all get flustered now and then, and that’s okay – it’s just part of being human!
  • April 1, 2024 – Confused 
    • When you’re confused, ask questions! Miss Penny explains how it’s okay to ask when you don’t know something.
  • April 15, 2024 – Shy 
    • Feeling shy is like when you’re a bit nervous or shy around new friends or in new places. Miss Penny cheers up one of the KidVision kids and helps them feel less shy by sharing a smile.
  • May 1, 2024 – Surprised 
    • When something surprising happens, share it with others, and turn it into a fun moment together.
  • May 15, 2024 – Silly 
    • Miss Penny shows kids that feeling silly is a blast! When silliness hits, she recommends a silly dance for instant giggles and pure joy.
  • June 1, 2024 – Disgusted 
    • Miss Penny teaches KidVision kids that when something is disgusting, it helps to close your eyes and think about happy things.
  • June 15, 2024 – Scared 
    • When fear strikes, Miss Penny encourages little ones to embrace comfort. Hugging a teddy bear tightly provides a sense of security and transforms moments of fear into moments of warmth.
