During the week of Oct. 17, St. Theresa Catholic School students and families contributed food items, clothing, as well as cash donations to send to assist in Hurricane Matthew relief for Haiti. Students raised over $2,000 and collected school supplies, dry goods and diapers for needy families in devastated Haiti.

One Pre-K student, Emma Busquets, knew she could help make a difference and told her mother, “Mama, I have a good idea. I have money in my piggy bank; we can break it and send it to them so they can buy what they need.”

She was very happy to contribute to Haiti as were all of our students.

The Coral Gables Fire Department assisted in the collection of goods for Haiti. Teachers Carolina Vizcaino and Juan Del Sol spearheaded the tremendous effort to help Haiti.
