TAYLOR GANG

Born in Providence, RI, Taylor Gang was raised in Miami attending Gulliver Prep and later graduating from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME.

From a very young age, Taylor was inspired by his family and exposed to volunteerism, helping his mother with outreach to the elderly in the community, assisting with projects and running errands. As a student at Gulliver Prep, where community service is a requirement for graduation, he embraced the responsibility volunteering during the summers in high school as a sailing instructor at Shake-A-Leg (a sailing program for children and adults with disabilities) in Newport, RI.

Since 2007, Taylor has participated with his firm in Motivated Youth, Evensky & Katz/Foldes Financial Wealth Management Community Outreach Program. This philanthropic program empowers future generations by providing opportunities for students to meet representatives from children’s charities, evaluate proposals and direct dollars to the charities from the firm’s gift fund.

Among the many charities supported by this program over the years has been Make- A-Wish Southern Florida, with a mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

When the 2-year-old child of a friend was diagnosed with cancer and needed emergency surgery, Taylor donated blood and had what he terms his “Eureka” moment. He knew from that time on that he would look to impact the lives of children and learned more about the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its mission.

It was at Make-A-Wish, where Taylor met wife, Lisa, an attorney who worked for the charity and was a Wish grantor as were her parents who had granted more than 100 wishes. He quickly was enamored with the charity, became a Wish grantor and in 2010 was elected to its board of directors. Today, Taylor serves as the organization’s president elect.

During the workday Taylor is a principal of Evensky & Katz/ Foldes Financial Wealth Management where he serves on the firm’s Investment Committee working with high-net-worth families and institutional clients to achieve their investment and financial planning goals.

A Certified Financial Planner professional, Taylor holds a certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Miami as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies in association with the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, for expertise in investment fiduciary responsibility.

In addition, Taylor has his Series 65 Investment Advisor License and contributes frequently to both local and national media including recent appearances in Consumer Reports, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Investment News, Miami Herald, Sun- Sentinel, MSN Money and Yahoo! Finance.

When he is not volunteering or enjoying time with his wife, Lisa, and his 9-year-old daughter Olivia, from a previous marriage, Taylor enjoys cycling, collecting wine, sailing, skiing, tennis, and triathlon.
