Local residents and visitors are invited to take a pause from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives at Coral Gables’ newest dining spot, Tempo Restaurant.

Tempo represents an idealistic approach to life and time in general, where everything is in sync at once. In Tempo, guests can expect to feel a sense of calm and truly enjoy the best of casual Mediterranean dining with exquisite meals, an open ambiance, and a new approach to healthy and flavorful food.

Upon entering Tempo, guests will immediately be greeted by a modern contemporary design, complete with elegant design details for an open and airy experience. Guests can eat inside the venue or outside at Tempo’s beautiful terrace. The ambiance is completed with a trendy lounge music to get the vibes going.

The restaurant’s menu consists of high-quality foods and avoids unhealthy processed ingredients. Guests will be able to choose from an assortment of flavorful meals that feature vegetables and other nutritious options that taste anything but bland. Grilling is the preferred technique at Tempo, so that guests can truly savor every flavor of their meals.
Some of the standout menu items at Tempo are: Nappa “Tonnato” Salad (vitello tonnato dressing, parmesan, anchovies, tomato croutons, trout roe); Duck Confit Papardelle (handmade pasta, sear foie grass); Sepia “Arroz Negro” (grill shrimp and squid, basil aioli, piquillo paste); Grill Branzino (peas, kimchi sauce); Cochinillo (served individually and family style), and the Truffle Lobster Foam (pork belly, poached eggs, shoestring potatoes).

In addition to tasty entrees and dishes, Tempo Restaurant also features a selection of hand-crafted cocktails that are sure to keep you coming back for more. Some of Tempo’s most sought-after cocktails include: Le Jeune (Raisins infused – Diplomatico Planas, Kalani Liqueur, Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur, Citrus); Aragon (Smoke Lab Vodka, Chinola Passion Fruit, Citrus, Simple Syrup, Dill, Spicy Tincture, Aromatic Bitter, Ginger Beer), and El Palmarito (Fronterizo Mezcal, Magenta Reposado, Beet Syrup, Blackberry Shrub, Sour AF lime, Huana Guanabana Liqueur, Diplomatico Coffee bitters, Grapefruit Soda), and many more unique cocktails.

Add a sweet touch to your meal with one of our Signature Desserts, the Baklava Napoleon, crispy pistachio, and walnut phyllo filled with orange blossom pastry cream and rose syrup.

Tempo Restaurant is operated by partner and Chef Carlos Garcia together with Chef Richard Ortega. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Chef Carlos García attended and graduated from the Hofmann School of Hospitality in Barcelona, Spain. Co-owner of Alto, located in the Venezuelan capital since 2007, García completed several internships in multiple renowned restaurants, including El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca and Mugaritz.

Throughout the years, García has emerged as one of the most outstanding chefs in Latin America. His contemporary Venezuelan cuisine sets forth a unique interpretation of a territory through edible metaphors with constant inquiry into the culinary repertoire and pantry of the country and direct contact with local producers.

Together, the two chefs and restaurateurs have combined their talents for creating delicious, memorable cuisine inspired by their home countries to create the classic yet refined dining experience at Tempo.

Tempo Restaurant is located at 2524 S. LeJeune Rd., providing friendly and professional customer service with convenient hours of operation.

Hours of 0peration are Tuesday-Thursday, noon-3 p.m. and 5:30-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, noon-3 p.m. and 5:30-11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
