A soft spoken, intelligent man with a big heart, Terry Biddulph, recently retired after 35 successful years in the banking industry. He concluded his long career as senior vice president of corporate banking/business development for Sabadell United Bank.
While he catered to the needs of the professional and legal communities as a bank liaison for attorneys, law firms, bar associations and the judiciary, he also volunteered his time to the underserved.
A longtime Coral Gables Rotarian, Terry Biddulph’s work ethic has followed Rotary’s Four Way Test: Is it the truth? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? With that work ethic and a caring and generous nature, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him.
Terry hails from Cleveland, OH, where he attended West Tech High School and then Cleveland State University, graduating from Spencerian College with a bachelor of science in business administration.
Following a tour of duty in the U.S. Coast Guard, he began his banking career and first became involved in non-profit work in 1974 through a foster care program. That was the beginning of years of doing pro bono work for special community programs for the disadvantaged. Among the list of organizations in which he has served are the Women’s Fund, Safe Space, Foster Care, Alliance for Aging, the Guardianship Program of Dade County, Mothers Voices, YMCA/Court Cares, and Habitat for Humanity.
Over the years Biddulph received multiple honors for his community involvement and has been honored by several bar associations receiving various special awards including The Lawyers Banker, Friend of Lawyers, Lifetime Achievement, Outstanding Service, Legal Aid Pro Bono/Put Something Back and the Distinguished Service Award from the Dade County Bar Association.
Terry is a longtime member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Now that he has retired, he will have the opportunity to share more of his time and talent with the community as well as enjoy hobbies such as golf, biking, walking, and travel. Whatever Terry decides to do in this next phase of his life, you can be sure it will benefit our community and the underserved.
