Developer The Astor Companies, led by Henry Torres, hosted a grand opening celebration for the brand-new Merrick Manor luxury building in Coral Gables on Thursday, Apr. 18.

More than 400 guests came out to get a first-hand look at the building, tour model residences designed by Interiors by Steven G. and enjoy an unforgettable performance from the Aqualillies synchronized swim team.

Torres was joined by Steven G., Coral Gables Mayor Raul Valdes-Fauli, Coral Gables Commissioner Michael Mena, Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce president Mark Trowbridge and chair Patrick O’Connell for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During the ceremony, the mayor announced that Apr. 18 would be known in the city as “Merrick Manor Day.”

Located at 301 Altara Ave., the 10-story, 227-residence Merrick Manor is the largest condominium project completed in Coral Gables in at least a decade. It includes nearly 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space just steps away from the fashionable Shops at Merrick Park. The building has one- to four-bedroom designer-ready residences ranging from 574 to more than 3,400 square feet.
