The Avenue Hotel & Residences Coral Gables, the new Parisian-inspired neo-classically designed boutique condominium and hotel located across the street from the entrance to Merrick Park, has broken ground, it was announced by Oscar Roger, president and CEO of Roger Development Group, a family-owned real estate development and management company.
The ceremony took place Nov. 1 at the sales center located at 351 San Lorenzo Ave. Dynamic father and son development duo, Oscar Sr. and Oscar Roger Jr. along with partners, Zarko Cukic, Jose Espantoso, Veronica Rey, joined by members of the project’s design team including architect Willy Bermello of Bermello Ajamil & Partners; interior designer Adriana Hoyos of Adriana Hoyos Design Studio; Alicia Cervera Lamadrid, managing partner and principal of Cervera Real Estate, and principals from Thornton, the general contractor.
Also attending the festivities were Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago and more than 75 of the city’s civic and business elite who indulged in an assortment of macarons, madeleines, mimosas, and more as they watched the project team toast their success and gleefully toss the first pile of sand from branded silver shovels.
“We are beyond excited to reach this pivotal milestone for The Avenue Hotel & Residences Coral Gables and we look forward to delivering an exceptional building in keeping with the high standards set by this world-class city and development team,” said Oscar Roger, president and CEO of Roger Development Group.
“This is a first-of-its-kind project for Coral Gables and we applaud the town commission for recognizing the need for a product of this nature to cater to full-time residents as well as part-time guests in the City Beautiful,” he added.
“It’s rewarding to watch its transformation from a simple sketch on a napkin unfold into a magnificent landmark that will shape our city for years to come,” added Oscar Roger Jr.
“Cervera Real Estate’s entire team has done an outstanding job sharing our vision with the world. Their sales success with more than 75 percent of the units sold to date speaks for itself,” he added.
“It was a privilege to support Roger Development as their exclusive sales and marketing firm. We have unwavering faith in the success of this project, which boasts remarkable design, and high-quality details and finishes,” said Cervera Lamadrid of Cervera Real Estate. “Its address across from the entrance to Merrick Park offers buyers the convenience of living just steps away from the 100 retailers and restaurants, including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Gucci, Jimmy Choo and fine dining establishments like Sea Grill, Brasserie Central, and Villagio and contributed considerably to the project’s appeal and demand.”
