Miami FC honored The Children’s Trust’s 20th Anniversary by inviting staff, Trust-funded providers and others in The Trust’s family to its May 27 game against Orange County SC. Children of staff and families in attendance made a human tunnel to welcome players to the field. Silvio Plata, who has been featured in The Trust’s 20th Anniversary campaign, sang the national anthem.

The Trust is a strong believer in the power of soccer bringing together the community and helping children and youth develop into adulthood. It has supported the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success program since 2017 and recently partnered again with the foundation, Miami-Dade County and philanthropist Kenneth Griffin in the Miami-Dade Soccer Initiative, which will build 50 new soccer pitches and provide soccer programming in the community by the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“We are proud and humbled to be honored by Miami FC. The Children’s Trust has long seen the value of utilizing soccer as an opportunity to keep kids safe and increase their physical and social-emotional wellness,” said James R. Haj, president & CEO of The Children’s Trust.
