RIP Turnover Chain? According to rivals.com, new University of Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal had told a recruit the Hurricanes will no longer give out the Turnover Chain. The gaudy prop made its debut in 2017 and was given to a Miami player after forcing a turnover. Perhaps its most memorable moment was when Trajan Bandy (pictured below) returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown against Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium in 2017. Just about every college team today uses a turnover prop. Alabama has turnover belts. Georgia has turnover shoulder pads. FSU even gave out a backpack. But no prop has received as much publicity or was as flashy than Miami’s Turnover Chain. Will you miss you it?
