Agrand opening reception for the highly anticipated The Palace at Coral Gables recently took place to showcase the luxury senior living community’s opulence, ambiance and wealth of five-star amenities now available for South Florida’s older adults.
Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason, as well as several city commissioners and VIPs, attended the event to officially welcome the senior living community to the “City Beautiful.”
The Palace at Coral Gables, located at One Andalusia Avenue, is a public/private partnership with the City of Coral Gables, which awarded The Palace Group, developers of the community, a 99 year land lease with the provision that a parking garage for public and private use also be built.
“We’d like to thank Helen and Jacob Shaham for their commitment to the city,” Mayor Cason said. “Twenty five percent of Coral Gables residents are seniors and, prior to The Palace at Coral Gables, did not have an option to age in place.”
Mayor Cason also presented the Shahams with a proclamation and globe, which represented the international flavor of the city and residents of The Palace at Coral Gables.
In addition to officials from the city, event attendees included the Chaim Shacham, Consul General of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico; banking representatives from TD Bank; healthcare professionals; social workers, and other executives involved in bringing the community to fruition.
Jacob Shaham thanked the audience for celebrating the opening of the community, which was inspired by the world renowned George V Hotel of Paris.
“I’ve lived all over the world and The Palace at Coral Gables is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen,” Mayor Cason added.
During the ceremony, Mark A. Trowbridge, president and CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, also presented the Shahams with a proclamation and acknowledged the significant economic impact the community and its residents will have on local businesses.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres expertly prepared by the community’s executive chef and his talented culinary team. A delectable buffet dinner included Chilean sea bass, filet mignon and a wide assortment of hand-made French pastries.
The Palace at Coral Gables features 243 studio, one- and two-bedroom residences for independent living and a separate floor for catered living with special services and care. Amenities are geared to residents’ interests and needs including a beauty salon and spa, a glorious heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, wellness center staffed by nurses, fitness and aerobics studios with the latest in Life Fitness equipment.
“Seven years ago we promised people this would be the finest in senior living,” Jacob Shaham said. “We have tremendous satisfaction in knowing we have accomplished this goal and will make an impact in people lives for years to come.”
The Leasing Center is open daily at One Andalusia Avenue and offers visitors the opportunity to select from the extensive variety of well-designed floor plans. For more information about The Palace at Coral Gables, call 305-445-7444 or visit online at www.PalaceCoralGables.com
