Bonnie Rodriguez, executive director of Greater Miami Youth For Christ, recently announced that Saturday, Nov. 10, starting at 8:30 a.m., is the day and time chosen for the third annual 5K Wild Walk at Zoo Miami.
“Everyone will want to be at Zoo Miami to enjoy an exciting morning of fun, including volleyball, a bounce house, freshbrewed coffee, delicious donuts and bagels, and a wide assortment of fresh fruit,” Rodriguez said. “The animals are up and alert, and ready to say ‘hello’ to each and every walker.”
Greater Miami Youth for Christ reaches young people in Miami- Dade County, working together with local churches and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus. The organization has been reaching at-risk youth of Miami for more than 60 years. Presently, 31 staff members and 100 volunteers work with over 5,000 youth each year.
Rodriguez added that she and her team presently are working to secure sponsors and create teams for the 5K Wild Walk.
“Last year over 600 people participated in our walk, helping us raise over $64,000. We hope to attract 1,000 or more walkers this year.”
