The 31st Annual University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum Celebrity Golf Tournament to benefit the Hurricane Club attracted many professional and UM athletes and was a tremendous success.  Hosted by UMSHoF&M member and All-American decathlete Aaron Moser, it was held at the luxurious Biltmore Golf Course on October 19th, as more than 120 golfers took to the course for the sold-out event and enjoyed a beautiful South Florida Fall Day.
Participating in the 18-hole event were more than 2 dozen UMSHoF&M members including former track Coach and UMSHoF&M President Coach Mike Ward, former football Coach Dennis Erickson, current baseball Coach J.D. Arteaga, former golf Coach Lela Cannon, 1992 Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta, NFL Hall of Fame member Warren Sapp, Jack McClinton, Alonzo Highsmith, KC Jones, Brett Romberg, Rich Mercier, Julie Cohen, Jodi Appelbaum Steinbauer, Janet Haas, Javy Rodriguez, David Gil, Kevin Brown, Steve Edwards, Lamar Thomas, Todd Sievers, longtime trainer Vinny Scavo, tournament host Aaron Moser and tournament chairperson Tracy Kerdyk.
The Diamond sponsor was Dodd Clasen of Twinkenham, Inc.  Gold sponsors for the event were Williamson Cadillac Buick GMC, Sandbar Sports Grill, Trugreen, University Credit Union, Florida Sol Systems and Aetna.  ABC Bartending Schools provided the libations for the golfers.
The event featured a silent auction, a Hole-In-One contest sponsored by Williamson and post tournament awards reception on a terrace overlooking the golf course at the Biltmore Hotel.  Special thanks to golf chairperson Tracy Kerdyk and the great group of volunteers who spent hours making the event a tremendous success and raising funds for student-athlete scholarships through the Hurricane Club.
