South Florida native Venny Torre is a man of many talents who is dedicated to his community and shares his time and abilities in a variety of ways.
Torre is president and CEO of Torre Construction and Development, a boutique construction and development firm that he owns and manages based in Coral Gables. With 25 years in construction and development experience , he began working in the construction field at the age of 15.
He graduated from the University of Florida earning an associate’s degree in arts in Architecture and then switched to finish with a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction.
This Gator began his career working with The Graham Companies, developers of the Town of Miami Lakes. From there he moved on to own U.S.Construction Corp., a successful commercial and residential general contracting firm based in South Florida.
Selling that company in 2003, Torre began to diversify and turned his attention to both real estate development and custom general contracting. A Certified Florida Licensed General Contractor and a licensed real estate broker, Torre, during the past 15 years, has been involved either jointly or solely in numerous real estate and construction ventures that include: office buildings, warehouses, apartments, townhouses, and multi-million dollar custom homes.
While successful in business, Torre also has committed his time and talent serving as an active member on several boards of directors. He currently serves on the board of Dade Heritage Trust and the Historic Preservation Board of Coral Gables. He also is a trustee for the Coral Gables Museum, which celebrated its grand opening on Oct. 10.
Torre’s talent for architecture and design make him more than a contractor. In fact, a more appropriate tile would be that of a “builder,” a man with vision who constructs with quality, permanence and history in mind. He envisions his work lasting not decades but centuries and, thus, his love of historic preservation and restoring historic sites. Among his hobbies naturally are history, architecture and travel.
Torre resides in Coral Gables with his wife of 12 years, Coco, and 6-year-old daughter, Olivia.
