Poseidon Ferry LLC has re-launched ferry service between Downtown Miami and Miami Beach/South Beach.
The company provides cross-bay transportation aboard a 65-foot 2012 Scarano Catamaran Ferry with a passenger capacity of 149. The vessel features a fully climate-controlled interior, full galley, restrooms, televisions, and free onboard Wi-Fi. Traveling at a speed of 22 knots with a re-powered engine system, the route across the Biscayne Bay will take approximately 16 minutes each way.
On the Miami side, the ferry will depart from James L. Knight Convention Center/Hyatt Regency, 400 SE Second Ave. Tickets will be sold inside the building on the main floor at the Poseidon Ferry ticket window.
On the Miami Beach/South Beach side, the vessel will arrive and depart from the south side of the Bentley Bay Marina, 520 West Ave. Tickets are available for purchase both inside the ticket office and onboard the vessel.
Poseidon Ferry LLC was founded in 2019 by CEO Johnathan Silvia, and COO Robert Black with the mission of providing safe, reliable, and affordable waterborne transportation services to residents and visitors throughout Miami-Dade and Southern Florida. COVID-19 impacted start of operations stated John Silvia, and he is delighted to re-launch and bring this much-needed service back to the Greater Miami area and to be working with Miami-Dade County, which has led this effort, along with the cities of Miami and Miami Beach.
