Pictured on set of Finding Love in Sisters are Richard Burgos and Mireya Kilmon, past president of the Coral Gables Woman’s Club.

There is so much talent in South Florida and it is always rewarding to see local actors get a role in a major film and see their names in Variety Magazine.

In this case several local Hispanic actors are in Glaskow, KY where they are filming Finding Love in Sisters. This movie is co-produced by leading Indie production BTF Media, based in Miami, along with LA-based American Cinema Inspires. The two companies teamed last year to develop and produce films with predominantly U.S.-Hispanic Talent.

You may have heard of local actress Mireya Kilmon as she also is well known as an active volunteer in the GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club (CGWC) where she has volunteered for more than 26 years and has served as past president for the club that is part the general Federation of Women’s Clubs, the largest woman’s club organization in the world.

Kilmon started in theater many years ago and in 2007 transition to film and TV and is of Cuban background who has portrayed many roles in the Spanish and American market.

Other Hispanic local talent in the cast includes Ricardo Burgos, Valentina Izarra, Mariaelena Davila and Victor Drija.

“The Glaskow community has welcomed us with open arms,” Kilmon said. “It is so beautiful here and we are so happy to represent our Latin community in this film.”
