There’s no place like home! That is why CoralGables@HOME, the innovative membership program helping seniors maintain independent living, is hosting the second annual Dishing It Up! Tour of Kitchens on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The self-guided tour includes a peek into some of Coral Gables’ most fabulous private home kitchens as well as cooking demonstrations and tastings by chefs from prominent local restaurants including Morton’s, Seasons 52, Angelique Euro Café, Pardo’s Peruvian Cuisine, Talavera and Peterbrooke Chocolatier.
“The Tour of Kitchens is a spin on the traditional home tour,” said co-chairs Tina Sayago and Heather Harris.
The tour features a variety of events ranging from a seminar on Universal Kitchen Design to a Garden Club of Coral Gables Herb and Plant Sale throughout the day. Programs with maps will be available beginning at 9 a.m. at the snaidero Kitchens + Design showroom, 4110 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Certified Kitchen Designer, Julia Johnston will give two Ageless Kitchen seminars at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at the snaidero Kitchens + Design showroom.
The event will conclude with a Chef’s Luncheon sponsored by Rincon Argentina and informal fashion show with CoralGables@HOME members and celebrity models including honorary chair and Coral Gables’ First Lady, Jeannett Slesnick, at the Coral Gables Country Club Prado Entrance beginning at 1:30 p.m. Tour tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door, and luncheon tickets are $50 while supplies last. A portion of the proceeds from the Dishing It Up! Tour of Kitchens will be used to subsidize the home-delivered meal program offered to CoralGables@HOME members.
