Miami-Dade County mayor names first woman sergeant-at-arms

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava recently announced she has appointed Miami-Dade Police Department Sergeant Susana Padron as the first woman Sergeant-at-Arms for the Mayor’s Office.

“I’m delighted to welcome Miami-Dade’s first woman Sergeant-at-Arms to this important role on the team,” Mayor Levine Cava said. “Sergeant Padron represents the very best of the Miami-Dade Police Department and I’m proud she is breaking another glass ceiling in our community.”

“I’m so proud and honored to serve in this new role under the first woman Mayor of Miami-Dade,” Sgt. Padron said.

Sgt. Padron is a 13-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department, most recently serving as Priority Response Team Sergeant, leading and supervising a squad of eight police officers. She has been recognized as Officer of the Month and Office of the Quarter numerous times. She began her career with Hialeah Police Department and earned her BA from Florida International University.
