The Town of Cutler Bay was honored with several awards during Chamber South’s annual Business Excellence Awards event on Wednesday, May 25.
The event, which took place at the Hilton Miami Dadeland, brought together South Dade business members, elected officials, and community leaders to honor outstanding businesses or initiatives that improve the community.
The Town of Cutler Bay was awarded second place in the “Corporate Social Responsibility” category for its Cutler Bay Cash Program.
“Through their Cutler Bay Cash Program, 300 residents received an electronic gift card worth $500 each to spend only at small Cutler Bay businesses,” said Desiree Ducasa, town communications manager. “The program, funded through the Federal CARES Act, distributed $150,000 to Cutler Bay residents who reinvested those funds in Cutler Bay small businesses, doubling the impact of the funds and keeping local dollars local.”
The town also was a finalist for both the “Innovation and Technology” award for its GO Connect transportation service, and for the “Multi-Cultural Workforce” award.
