During a luncheon organized by Councilmember Peggy Bell and Jean Tong-Noon, the “Ladies of Cutler Bay” met to welcome the town’s new first lady — Bobbi MacDougall, wife of Mayor Ed MacDougall.
“It was an important occasion, not only to honor the first lady but to introduce her to Cutler Bay’s women in business,” said Tong- Noon of the Cutler Bay Business Association Board of Directors. “It was wonderful to see our two first ladies, Bernie Cosgrove and Bobbi MacDougall, together.”
Attending the luncheon at Bargellos in The Falls were Ellie Mills of Ellie Mills State Farm; Barbara Wilson, Blooming Gardens; Tong-Noon of JMT Creates Events; Councilmembers Peggy Bell, Mary Ann Mixon and Sue Loyzelle; Georgia Tait, Miami’s Community Newspapers; Rotarian Terry Long, and Palmetto Bay’s Bev Gerald of LINK (Let’s Incorporate Now).
Bobbi MacDougall was pleased to be the guest of honor at the special luncheon.
“It was lovely, and the food was delicious,” MacDougall said. “I would like to thank Peggy for the opportunity I had to meet some of the other women who are active in the affairs of our town and our neighbors. I am honored to be the first lady of Cutler Bay.
“I grew up here, attended Gulfstream Elementary, Cutler Ridge Jr. High and Palmetto High School. I love our town. Proud to be a Ridge Rat.”
Also attending was Bernie Cosgrove, the wife of the late John Cosgrove, Cutler Bay’s first mayor. Bell explained the reason behind the special event.
“It was with great pleasure that we welcomed Cutler Bay’s new first lady, Bobbie MacDougall, by having a luncheon in her honor,” Bell said. “The attendees included women in business and local government.
“Family support is a crucial element that allows the elected official to represent the citizens to the best of their ability. Bobbie is a sterling example of that support. Fittingly, we presented her with a silver box engraved with the Cutler Bay logo,” Bell added.
“It was wonderful to get to know her and to offer her our support as well. We are honored to have someone as delightful and accomplished as Bobbi to represent our town as our first lady.”
