The Town of Cutler Bay hosted their 10th Annual Cutler Bay Senior Games event from Thursday, Nov. 14, to Friday, Nov. 22, and announced the names of the top finishers on Nov. 25. The multi-category Olympics-style games were open to adults ages 50 and older and are a precursor to the Florida Senior Games.
Maria Herrera‑Mendoza, Events &and Programs manager for the town, said she was pleased with how the event turned out, and mentioned this year’s changes.
“We had amazing weather every day,” Herrera‑Mendoza said. “We provided smoothies during pickle-ball, tennis and track days and also introduced superlatives. The athletes voted for Most Valuable Player, Cheer-master, Most Improved, and leadership categories during our awards luncheon/health fair and they were awarded to male and female winners. We also presented a golden award to the athletes who have participated in all 10 years of our senior games.”
