The 10th annual Military Appreciation Day in Homestead will be a chance to enjoy food, drinks, live music, and performances while checking out vintage and modern military vehicles such as boats, weaponry, and other interactive displays on Saturday, May 20.
Downtown Homestead will transform into a showcase of all things military from 2 to 6 p.m. as specialized military vehicles and interactive displays take over. The free community event centers at the newly expanded and renovated Losner Park, located at 104 N. Krome Ave., and aims to better unify civilians with all branches of the military.
The Military Affairs Council (MAC) will offer $10 food vouchers to active military members, reserve members, and veterans with a valid military ID. The vouchers can be picked up at the MAC tent and be redeemed at the festival’s food trucks and other participating restaurants and retailers in Downtown Homestead.
The event is a community effort organized by the City of Homestead in partnership with the Homestead Reserve Air Base, Military Affairs Council, Monroe Marauders, Seminole Theatre, and Homestead Main Street.
